A classic problem when handling crochet thread, which has been going on for years, is when you are using a small hook. And it's not as if you can change the size of the hook to whichever size you want! You always have to comply with the size hook needed.

We all go through that sometimes, the frustrating process of trying to get the crochet thread into the hook's eye. We have even tried tugging at the fibers of the crochet thread, even if this means foregoing quality! So, here are some tips that can be quite helpful to any crochet enthusiast dealing with the frustrations of crochet threads.

First and foremost, don't tug at the crochet thread when you are trying to make your way through a loop. Just pull the crochet thread as mildly as possible, just enough to get it through the loop.

Secondly, make sure that the stitches you're making are even in size and in tension. Any imbalance can cause more problems for you and your crochet thread, especially towards the end of your piece. And this is something you should be wary about. Because the crochet thread is not like your ordinary thread at all. It is very hard to pull out this kind of thread if you make mistakes along the way. Plus, there are times when you can't help but miss a gap in one of your rows once in a while. When you're still working your way through the same round of the small gap, this mistake is easily remedied. But when you're working on the next round already, taking out the crochet thread will be more difficult. The process can even result into messing the whole piece up. And this is something you really want to avoid.

Nonetheless, when the need to take out the crochet thread arises, your piece will most likely be creased or folded. This makes re-stitching very difficult to do. But if there's no other choice but to take out the crochet thread, then it's better to make the thread a little wet before taking it out. This process actually prepares your material for the threading out process. And the material will be less crimped or creased this way.
